Instructions

  1. First off, give those organic oranges a good wash, skin and all.
  2. Chop off the top and bottom bits, then peel the oranges. Cut the peel strips into whatever shapes you fancy.
  3. Get some water boiling in a pot, then stir in the salt and about three-quarters of the organic xylitol. Keep the rest aside for later.
  4. Pop the orange peels into the water and let them simmer over a medium heat for about 20 minutes.
  5. After that, turn off the heat, let them sit in the warm water for another 10 minutes, stirring gently now and then.
  6. Drain the water, and then lay the peels out on a wire rack at room temperature to drip dry.
  7. Once the peels have had about an hour to dry out a bit, roll them completely in the remaining organic xylitol.
  8. Finally, leave the candied peels to sit until they're nice and dry all the way through. Enjoy!
