Low-carb cinnamon stars
Cinnamon stars are among the classics of the Advent season. With ground almonds, our low-carb cinnamon stars become nutty and delicious, enchanting our gray winter days without the use of sugar! Sugar-free cinnamon stars with ground almonds To sweeten our cinnamon star recipe, we use calorie-free powdered erythritol, making the cinnamon stars low in sugar. Enjoy the anticipation of Christmas with a clear conscience!
Instructions
1. For the dough, beat the egg whites with the salt until stiff. Add the erythritol powder a spoonful at a time.
2. Mix the ground almonds and cinnamon together and add about 2/3 of the beaten egg whites. Knead the dough thoroughly with your hands and chill for about half an hour. Store the remaining beaten egg whites in the refrigerator.
3. Preheat the oven to 150 degrees Celsius (convection oven).
4. Then flour the work surface and rolling pin and roll out the dough to about 5 mm thick. Cut out a star shape and place the cinnamon stars on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
5. Spread the remaining beaten egg whites over the stars using a teaspoon and a brush. Bake the low-carb cinnamon stars for about 10 minutes and let them cool completely.
