Florentine biscuits

Florentine biscuits

Sweet Florentines, as the name suggests, originate from beautiful Florence. These crunchy almond cookies with chocolate have become classic Christmas cookies and look lovely in any cookie tin. But did you know that you can also make Florentines yourself without adding any sugar? It's easy with Xucker instead of sugar. Florentine recipe For our homemade sugar-free Florentines, we use a mixture of Xucker Premium (xylitol) and Xucker Bronxe (erythritol), our calorie-free raw sugar substitute. This makes the festive almond cookies wonderfully caramelized.

Instructions

  1. To make Florentines yourself, we first need a caramel cream. To do this, bring the cream, butter, salt, as well as Xucker Premium and Bronxe to a boil in a small saucepan and simmer gently for 4-5 minutes.
  2. Preheat the oven to 160 °C (320 °F) convection.
  3. Now mix the flaked and ground almonds in a large bowl and combine with the caramel cream.
  4. Using two tablespoons, distribute 16 Florentines onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for about 15 minutes until golden brown, then let them cool completely.
  5. Melt the chocolate chips over a water bath and use them to coat the bottom side of the Florentines.
  6. Let the chocolate harden well. Now the homemade Florentines can be stored in an airtight container or enjoyed immediately.
